Prague 2010 website up and running

For those who haven’t seen it yet, the official WFDF World Ultimate Club Championships website is here.

First post:

Have you ever been to the Czech Republic or Prague? Do you want to come over and have a great time with other people who enjoy the sport? Do you want to be a part of a tournament held right in the middle of Europe? If so, we’d like to invite you to the World Ultimate Club Championship 2010 in Prague.

Where and when

The WUCC 2010 will be held in Prague, between 3 and 10 July.

D-CUUP jersey design

The men have C.U.U.P., i.e. China United Ultimate Party, with jersey designs and all.

It is only fitting that China's women's team at Manila should go as D-CUUP, and with awesome jerseys to boot.

Witness: Danica May's jersey designs, a sample of which is above.

No final decision has been made on which design will be used, so voice your opinion here if you have one.

The acronym on the shorts, I've been told, is "Damn Cute Underwear Underneath Pants."

Manila update

We’re about three weeks away, give or take, from selecting the open and women’s team for the 2010 Worlds qualifying tournament on Friday, November 6. This is the day before Manila Spirits, consistently one of the best tournaments in Asia.

Neither the open nor the women’s roster has been set, but you’ll want to email one of the organizers soon if you’re interested in playing.

Women, contact Rob Adams, rpadams@gmail.com.

Guys have to fill out this brief questionnaire and send it to myself or the contact listed at the bottom:

Do you want to represent China on the World Ultimate stage?

Do you want to party with teammates from across China?

If so, prepare to travel to Manila for the WFDF Asian Ultimate Championships on November 6-8, 2009

The C.U.U.P (China United Ultimate Party) will be playing in the OPEN division and is looking for players to join our team. All OPEN games are on Friday Nov.6. You can play with another team in MIXED (CO-ED) division because all their games are Nov.7&8.

Learn more about the tournament here. Interested? Contact Nads @ mikenarodovich@gmail.com. Team will be announced by Sep. 30th.

Men’s team selection for Manila Spirits and Worlds

For the first time in recent memory, China will (try to) send an open team to a tournament in Asia. In November, Manila will host a regional qualifying for Worlds 2010 in Prague, coinciding with Manila Spirits during the weekend of Nov. 7-8.

Interested parties should contact me (email in left sidebar) or join China Open Ultimate on Google Groups.

Here’s the most recent announcement from Hong Kong’s Rob Adams, who’s spearheading this campaign:

China Open Players,

There is enough interest in the ‘Open division’ to try to create a Greater China Club team for Manila Spirits/AOUCC tournament.

The team structure is starting to take shape:

Treasurer and Coordinator – Grant Franke
He will be representing the team in liaising with WFDF, HKUPA, PUA, and other organisations to make this team a reality. Most further announcements will come from Grant.

The Roster Selection Committee – Nads, Balance, Jake, Tao
They will be attempting to put together a first cut for the Manila roster for August 21st.

If you haven’t filled the form out yet, please do so – it it important information for the selection comittee.
